This is one of the biggest things I’ve had to overcome since I started this “internet marketing thing.” I’m guilty of some ( not necessarily all) of the things I want to share in the next few posts. Yep, age plays a factor here.

Here’s the bottom line: If you truly want to turn this “online thing” into a sustainable business, chances are you probably need to take a step back and look at what things currently dominate your life. I think I can guess what they are. You have a number of what I like to call “time vampires” that suck the life out of your productive daily routine and keep you from being where you want to be.

Hey, I’m not ashamed to admit it. At the time I’m writing this, I’m 60 years old. No, I’m not a fossil, but I can observe what’s going on around me. For example, does everyone have to be on a cell phone at every moment of every day? That drives me crazy.

So it’s no surprise that I’m listing as my number one time vampire. . .drum roll, please. . .

Cell Phones — It amazes me how so many people are owned by their cell phones. They can’t even drive their stinkin’ cars without texting or checking emails. I guess I’m just from a different generation, but I just don’t get the fascination. Unless you’re using it for business. . .

Who do you have to be talking to at 7:00 AM while driving to work?! What did people do before cell phones existed? Oh, that’s right. They paid attention.

Personally, I don’t want people to be able to contact me 24/7. Okay, that’s a rant. I digress.

Do good things, progress onward, and above all. . .

Just take action.
